MIQ Logistics to Transport World Trade Center Artifact

Overland Park, KS, July 21, 2011--

MIQ Logistics announced it will manage the project logistics of moving a steel beam, extracted from the World Trade Center destruction, to its permanent site at the Overland Park Fire Training Center, 12401 Hemlock.

“We are honored that the Overland Park Fire Department entrusts us with moving this artifact of the tragic 9/11 attack,” says John Carr, MIQ Logistics president and COO. “The fire department and community can rely on our expertise to carefully move this lasting memory of the men and women who lost their lives in the World Trade Center.”

The artifact will travel on ground equipment from the Port of New York. It is scheduled to arrive in Overland Park on Monday, July 25. A police and fire department convoy will escort the beam through the Sprint Headquarters Campus, pausing at the world headquarters of MIQ Logistics, 11501 Outlook Street, at approximately 10 a.m. before moving to the memorial site.

September 11, 2011 marks the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks that claimed approximately 3,000 lives.
